Yes. Bama Dirt installs and upgrades commercial gravel parking lots across North Alabama. We work with businesses, churches, equipment yards, event venues, and rural commercial properties. Our process accounts for local clay-heavy soil conditions to ensure proper compaction and long-term surface stability.
The required thickness depends on traffic type and soil conditions. Light passenger vehicle lots typically require a properly prepared subgrade and multiple inches of compacted base material. Lots that support delivery trucks, work vehicles, or equipment require additional base depth and stronger aggregate layers. We evaluate your site and traffic load before recommending material depth.
Crusher run or dense-graded base aggregate is commonly used because it compacts tightly and locks together to create a stable surface. Decorative gravel alone is not suitable for high-traffic commercial applications. The base material must provide structural support and resist rutting under daily vehicle use.
Potholes are usually caused by poor drainage, insufficient base thickness, or lack of compaction. We prevent potholes by preparing a stable subgrade, installing proper base material in controlled lifts, compacting thoroughly, and establishing surface slope to move water off the lot. Drainage planning is critical for long-term performance.
